Geophilic – Vanilla Biome Overhauls
Geophilic improves Minecraft's vanilla Overworld biomes while keeping the original style and progression intact. Instead of adding completely new biomes, blocks or items, it fills existing environments with additional natural details.
The mod takes some inspiration from early concepts for the Wild Update and is designed to feel like a natural extension of vanilla Minecraft rather than a major world generation overhaul.
Biome Changes
Geophilic adds more variation and small environmental features throughout the Overworld, including:
– Fallen trees
– Forest clearings
– Boulders
– Tree stumps
– Bushes
– Moss
– Additional natural decorations
– Improved tall tree generation with more space underneath
Trees and vegetation continue to use materials appropriate for their original biomes. The mod doesn't introduce unrelated wood types or unusual block palettes simply for additional variety.
Starting with version 3.0.0, almost every non-ocean vanilla biome receives some form of overhaul.
Configuration
Geophilic can be customized using Datapack Toolkit, allowing individual world generation features to be adjusted.
Requirements
The Fabric/Quilt version requires one of the following:
– Fabric API
– Quilted Fabric API
Compatibility
Geophilic only modifies vanilla biome files, allowing it to work alongside terrain-generation mods and datapacks such as Tectonic and Lithosphere.
For compatibility with Terralith, use Terraphilic.
Other datapacks that directly overhaul vanilla biomes may be partially or completely incompatible with Geophilic.
Updating
World generation features may change or be removed between releases. Updating shouldn't corrupt an existing Minecraft world, but regular world backups are still recommended.
