Assetto Corsa Evo Adds Free Roam in Early Access
As part of early access to Assetto Corsa, everyone is eagerly awaiting the release of an innovative feature for this series—free roam mode. It will give players a unique opportunity to freely move beyond the race track, something that has never been seen in any of the games in this series. This means that you will be able to calmly explore the surrounding roads and drive around the city.
A large number of players were intrigued by such an interesting opportunity to explore the game world, not just compete in races. Co-founder of the company Kunos Simulazioni Marco Massarutto at SimRacing Expo 2025 presented a little when you should expect free access to the Assetto Corsa Evo.
According to him, the free roam mode will not open to players in the final release of ACE 1.0, but will be available as early access, that is, much earlier.
It is important to note that this will be only the first stage of free access. Also, Marco Massarutto said that the delay of this regime is due to the fact that the team has more focused their efforts on developing more important functions as well as eliminating problems in early access.
What’s special about free roam set?

In fact, you will be able to feel the realism of real roads, while being in Assetto Corsa, which can cause two feelings. Due to the good implementation of graphics and physics, such road trips will provide a lot of pleasure.
The developers consider many nuances to plan and implement everything as in real life. So, the free mode will bring into play an element of racing simulator with freedom of movement.
In the working version of the road were not so impressive and to realism far there. But with the free roam set, the situation should change fundamentally - traffic, transitions, NPC, navigation system and a lot of interesting functions will be added.
Waiting for further details from the team Kunos regarding free movement in Assetto Corsa!
