The Porsche 911 RSR is a race car developed by Porsche to compete in the LM GTE class of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and the GTLM class of the International Motor Sports Association. It is intended to replace the Porsche 911 RSR (991). The car was unveiled in November 2016 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Unlike other 911 models, the engine is positioned in front of the rear axle. This is because the LM GTE class allows for optimization of the engine’s position.
The 911 RSR claimed its first victory at the Northeast Grand Prix in July 2017 at Lime Rock Park.
