Generic 4.0L engine swap, and fixes
To celebrate reaching a "stable" version of the vehicle, I've made an engine swap option. You can now put in a generic colourful 4.0L i6 engine if you want.
fixes:
- fixed lua error without engine
- fixed racing seat position
- fixed after market steering wheel rotations
- made upper A-arms less likely to break. Specifically for the offroad version
- improved intercooler/radiator mesh braking
Elfin T5 (Type 5) – Australian Sports Car
About This Mod
Permission was obtained from the owners of Elfin (Young Timers Garage) to scan their only remaining road-legal T5 (Type 5) for inclusion in BeamNG.drive. They have a second car, but it remains unfinished. The scan was conducted in person in Melbourne, with permission recorded on camera—the owners loved the idea.
Vehicle History
The Elfin T5 was produced from approximately 2008 to 2012. The production timeline is somewhat inconsistent, as the period was not favorable for launching new sports cars. The T5 followed the MS8 Streamliner as an "entry-level" model, though its turbo power-to-weight ratio was substantial.
Due to the small Australian market and limited production numbers, these vehicles are extremely rare and valuable today.
Handling and Development
Suspension geometry was developed using available information, with tuning assistance provided by xenoyparxi, Teemu_94, MadAnt250, and Andrija. An Elfin employee also tested the mod before release to provide feedback on real-world comparison.
The tune remains a work in progress, though the vehicle is in a sufficiently completed state for driving.
