Random Events 2.0.0.0
Latest Update
- The world stops being a stream of one-shot events and starts to feel alive: incidents evolve over time, emergency services drive in, the pace ebbs and flows, and your good deeds earn a rank.
- Total events increased from 59 to 75.
- New systems:
- Living Incidents - a crash can now grow into a whole incident on one spot over about a minute.
- Dispatch - emergency vehicles (police, fire, tow) now drive in from up the road and park on the shoulder.
- The Director - a pacing layer that shapes the world into waves of action and calm.
- Reputation - Good deeds and Events joined now earn XP and a cosmetic rank ladder.
- New events (16):
- Living crash
- Demolition derby
- Desert duel
- Prisoner transfer
- Felony stop
- Hit and run
- Timber spill
- Quarry works
- Fuel depot
- Wide load
- Bus stop
- School bus stop
- Moving day
- Overland meet
- RV trouble
- World event
- Improved:
- Per-event descriptions - hover "?" for one-line explanation.
- NEW badge - events added this version are flagged in the app.
This mod is in active development. Expect rough edges, occasional misbehaving AI, and events that do not yet handle every road / map perfectly. More events, smarter AI driving logic, and richer player-interaction features are coming in future updates. Please report any issues you find, thanks!
Random Events turns any map into a living world. Drive around in Free Roam and the world fills itself with believable scenes - aggressive racers, road closures with concrete barriers, accidents with wreckage, police chases, parking-lot drifters, motorcades, ambulances, and more. Everything is detected and placed at runtime from the loaded map's road graph and parking data, so the mod works on official maps and user-created maps alike, with no per-map setup required.
Features
-
50+ distinct world events that spawn and despawn automatically based on your position and configurable per-minute chance.
-
Map-agnostic runtime detection. The mod scans the road graph and parking data of whatever map you load. It uses BeamNG's built-in parking spots when the map ships them, and falls back to a geometric raycast scan otherwise.
-
Persistent scan cache. First load of a map scans once; later loads read the result from disk for instant startup. A map fingerprint invalidates the cache automatically when map data changes.
-
In-game UI app.Add the Random Events app from the Apps menu. A compact view shows status (ON/OFF, active events, scan progress) and a one-click expand button reveals the full settings panel with per-event toggles, chance sliders, manual spawn buttons, and distance settings. An opacity toggle lets you fade the panel out so it doesn't block your view while driving - hovering over it restores full opacity instantly.
-
Spawned vehicles register as traffic so they don't clutter your Tab vehicle cycle. Roadworks props and barriers are also skipped on Tab.
-
Configurable spawn / despawn distance so you can tune how close events appear and how far away they linger before cleaning up.

Packed: %LocalAppData%\BeamNG.drive\<version>\mods\random_events.zip
Enable the mod in Repository → Mods, then add the Random Events app from the Apps menu in Free Roam and toggle the system on.
Known limitations:
-
AI driving on routes is functional but can still get stuck on unusual geometry; smarter route logic is a top priority for the next update.
-
Some prop placements may snap to slightly offset positions on maps without authored parking-spot data.
-
A handful of community maps with sparse road graphs will produce fewer events than dense official maps.
Feedback and bug reports are very welcome — this is just the start.
Dear friends, please note, the mod is in EARLY EARLY ALPHA stage, there will be many bugs and issues. Lets improve and fix this mod together!) This mod will become a large project with lots of events, to bring more interesting moment and fun to BeamNG Drive.

hey so i love this mod so much very nice work and i have a couple suggestion's for you 1 is that you should make button to teleport to events because i can never find them and also i have summoned the drift event and they just seem to drive in circles im not sure if its my game or the mod but its ok and thats about it but keep up the work i love the mod
@hello hey. Sure, thank you for suggestions and feedback!
dose it work for 0.38? in italy? please?
@bunica 7 yes, in any map. Supports 0.38.
the notification is apearing but i dont see the event i changed the spawn distance and notification distance.also when i click the spawn button it does not do anything.and the circle button that is half colored doesnt do anything
@nig Some events dont spawn for me aswell but just some try to change the spawn distance to like 10 and max 100 it worked for me
Stupid question but do i have to sapwn my own AI for it to work or is it gonna spawn everything by itself? (im stupid pls answer)
@Erikooo Sorry for the slow reply. No, you did everything right - it's just that the maps are different, and the scanner doesn't always detect the roads correctly, but I'll be fixing and improving this.
@modslab super gratefull for the reply but i will ask lasty question. Is it normal that they instead of spawning on the side of the road they spawn in the middle of it and in the wrong direction? Did i do something wrong but yeah the mod is amazing atleasty im not bored!
@Erikooo turn the mod on via UI and it will start spawning automatically. You can change spawn distance, spawn time, cooldown and other. Also you can spawn manually, if you want. Don't forget to press warm up button, or every event spawn will cause lags
hi man, i love the concept of the mod but, its a bit sketchy, racing never happens even if it says its happening, road blocks? same etc. i have it on the repo mod folder is it the right place?
And try to change settings of the spawn distance. Maybe events are spawning too far from you, that's why you can't see them
@urlocalhuman2361 hey. Contact me voa discord or dm, I'll help with installation. If you know how to unpack mods, try unpacked version, that should help
hey when i downloaded the mod it didnt show up in the ui apps did i do it wrong by putting it in the vehicles mod or should i put it in another file ?
@saeed hey. You need to put it in mods folder, not vehicle
I dont know why people like you have to put the mod on some ****y ass website like patreon when you can put the mod on a nice and user friendly website like modsfire so people dont have to suffer when trying to download it dosent have to be this whole thing (btw i leaked this mod on every mod website i could think of including modland on an alt account)
@to you well, if you don't want to do that - just don't download the mod. So, I'm willing to spend months of my life creating and improving a mod that tens of thousands of people enjoy, but you're not willing to spend 1 minute of your time to download it, and you blame me for that? The problem is solved very simply. If someone can't be bothered to spend 1 minute of their time, then they just don't download it, and those who can be bothered - download it and play)
@modslab you could have just put It on mods host so it could be easier for all of us to download
@you slow? its free. I just don't want to go through the process of ****ing around with his patreon when he could have just put it on modshost
@beamngdrivelover
@beamngdrivelover leaking a free mod - now that's really something. Congratulations, you've already shown the level of your intelligence. You're given a free mod that you can get with literally two clicks, and there you sit, all full of yourself, telling people where and how to upload, and bragging about reuploading the mod to other sites. Congratulations, what can I say. Some people have no shame)
Love it, gonna make a video on it
@Brenden Hoelcher thanks!)
Can you make a video on how to download this?
@modslab it doesent work
@Luce Luc to be honest, I'm not making any videos, but I'll try
@modslab both pls.
@RS6ER download or install?
very laggy imo
@giggle you need to press "warm up" button to preload vehicle pool
sooo good great mod
@344u484848 thanks!
How do i get it to work in game?
@Josh after installation, add Random Events UI and turn it on, or spawn manually
How to get mod for free it takes me to boosty
@hi the mod is free. When distributing my mods I use the services I prefer myself - thanks for the recommendation) There's nothing you need to buy; I'm probably saying this for the hundredth time now - 9,000 people have downloaded the mod without any problems, and I'm sure you'll manage too) To do it, click the download link and Boostylink will open. There, click Become Patron, become a free Patreon member, return to that same Boostylink page, and click the lovely green Unlock Link button) You'll have to agree, it's pretty simple?)
@modslab it wants me to pay for patreon.... either £3.60 or £4. Can you make it a google drive link or something?
@hi first, press "Become Patreon" button, become my free patreon, go back to boostylink page, wait for confirmation (15 seconds), press "Unlock link" button
@hi complete all actions and press unlock link. It''s not hard, mod is absolutely free)
can someone help me set it up im having trouble get it to appear
@mastergoopyoopy sure, dm me with detailed information
Friends, I finnaly found a way to optimize the mod and make it less laggy. I'll still need some time to make improvements, but next version (v1.5) will be much better!) Thank you all for your support.
