Farming Simulator 22 introduces three new crops: grapes, olives and sorghum. With the new production chains, you can even further process them. Let's look at the new plants first and what you can do with them. But wait, did you still see our brand-new trailer?
FS22 releases for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia on 22 November. Get the CLAAS XERION SADDLE TRAC Pack now! A Collector's Edition will be available for PC.
On the hillsides and curved fields you will have fun planting countless grape vines. Just as you do on a real viticulture with rows and ranges of vines, you stripe your farmland with it and make it look idyllic – like it was a holiday destination. In order to enjoy the panoramic view on your own wineyard, you will naturally need to care for your grapes. The fruit must be fertilized and the soil loosened and mulched with special equipment.
You will have to look at the crop calendar if you are taking Farming Simulator 22 with seasonal growth activated. Put your grapes between March and June and don't waste time in September and October harvesting them with a New Holland Braud 9070L. Also, don't forget to prepare what remains for the next season next year!
Take a step further and plant olive trees on your farms if the grapes farm is not Mediterranean enough for your delicate taste. Looking like a dense carpet of trees from a distance, it is definitely as beautiful as a sight. Go with both in case of doubt!
There are some differences in the care of olives. For example, between March and June, the olive season is the same as for grapes. But you'll have to harvest them a little faster - only in September is the olives harvest season. New Holland will again give you the right harvesting machine - this time the New Holland Braud 9090X.
We have also added a new type of sorghum grain. Sorghum is a member of the sweet grass family and is one of the world's leading foods. It is highly nutritious due to its dietary fibers and is used for human consumption in many different ways. It is mainly grown in dry climates and is therefore becoming increasingly important in the world.
Since we introduce Farming Simulator 22 production chains, new crops can be processed after harvest. Only if you wanna, however!
What are you making from grapes? Naturally, fine and tasty grape juice (what else would you do with this delicious fruit pleasant to all ages?). But dried grapes are delicious, too - don't you think so? You can produce high-grade olive oil with olives. That ought not to be a great surprise. You can supply sorghum to the grain mill to produce fine flour.
There's more to say about the three new crops and the production chains. Soon, we will go deeper, showing you how to handle them in the game. If you have missed our production chains announcement - check it out now!
And stay tuned, as usual - especially for FarmCon! From 21 July to 23 July there will be stream and show a lot of new material. It is broadcast on official Twitch channel of GIANTS Software.
On 22 November Farming Simulator 22 releases for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Stadia will be released. The cover depicts Case IH AFS Connect Magnum, Fendt 900 Vario, Massey Ferguson MF 8S or Zetor Crystal, depending on the region.

Olives for more Mediterranean charm
