Advanced Tyre Physics Mod - free version 1.2
Latest Update
For now, I believe I've addressed as much as can be expected, for a "universal" mod. I will do new features in the future, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to add them to this free version.
updates:
- fixed auto acceleration bug
- sidewall being too big for some uses (causing the Wydra not being able to drive forwards)
- tyres with skinDragCoef will now be able to drive on water
**warning** This currently activates, but has no way to deactivate currently, so it'll always be running. If you're not using the mod, dissable it. The devs have said that they are going to patch this for us, so keep an eye out for an update.
This mod gives a lot more polygons to the physical tyre model in BeamNG. All sims have pre-defined behaviours, and then animate them, and BeamNG kinda did half-and-half with their tyres. This mod brings it closer to their ethos of, "from the ground up".
There's hundreds of tyres in BeamNG, and I wasn't willing to make all tyres, all over again. Instead, once you spawn your car:
- go to vehicle config>parts list>additional modification
- put on "high polly wheels" (yes, I'm dyslexic)
Then you can see the tyres if you press ctrl+t, and then ctrl+d will toggle that debug view off and on.
This mod was made in, and for this video -

If your tyres are unstable, go to the tuning menu, and try turning down
"Overall Stiffness" until it's stable. Then you'll have a few more options. The full version of the mod can be gotten here-

The full version includes the ability to tune the front and rear tyres separately, and more tuning options.

Thanks for not doing the square wheels
which one is which?
Fillman86 on ModLand?? (I've never seen him on ModLand)
This mod feels too advanced for modland where they only reupload the same 10 mods Lol
Fillman86, the Australian prodigy, blessed the beamng drifting community with this mod. It's like God had finally listened to our countless wishes... With this polly wheel mod, drifting feels like floating on a cloud. No need to fight the overly throttle-sensitive transitions. No need to stress about crashing, just because the drifts are unpredictable. I haven't felt this good in years. Of course, the extreme wheel wobble at higher speeds (blame me, I have no idea how I should config the mod) woke up my neighbours, but it was more than worth it. Not only God, but also Patreon should bless this man.
Will this work with any vehicle including modded vehicles
damn, i never knew fillman was dyslexic
link doesn't work
@guest you clicked the wrong thing, it's not in the middle, it's at the bottom of the page
This is unbelievably good when you really adjust the settings right. Just wow.
