Assetto Corsa Evo: What To Expect From It?
The first Assetto Corsa game was released in 2014, but it still holds steady on the list of the most popular racing simulators. Tens of thousands of gamers continue to play it.....
The sequel, Assetto Corsa Competizione, although not as widely popular, still managed to take its place among racing simulators, earning the recognition and loyalty of part of the gaming community. Therefore, fans of the series were extremely happy when they learned about the release of AC Evo, the long-awaited continuation of the favorite races! And now, finally, it has happened. Currently, the developers are busy developing the game and adding new technologies to it. For example, in the game you will need to keep track of fuel consumption and battery charge.
In addition, the game will have an advanced artificial intelligence system. Against you will play not just bots with pre-defined scenarios, but worthy opponents who will be trained on the go. But that's not all. In general, ACE promises to be not just a continuation of the famous series, but practically a new racing simulator with a huge amount of new content and a completely new game unique in this genre.
The new part of Assetto Corsa called Evo promises to be released in early access on January 16 in 2025. The team at KUNOS-Simulazioni continues to share new details about the game. Just recently new interesting details about the game have been revealed. So you and I have a lot to discuss.
AC Evo Modding

It's no secret that the first part of Assetto Corsa owes a lot of its success to modifications. Players had the opportunity to create mods of cars and tracks. Due to this, the game is still successfully kept afloat and it is still interesting to play. In the case of AC Competizione, the creators decided that there was no need to include the ability to support mods in the game, there are actually no mods for the game.
But AC EVO, according to the creators themselves, will support mods. So far there is very little information about how it will be. Whether it will be possible to install third-party mods in the game from other sites, or the game will have its own service with mods and install them only from there. But the fact is that the game is very likely to support modding. So, players who love this series for its rich collection of mods will definitely wait for the release of this game.
AI opponents

The artificial intelligence system in this simulator goes to a whole new level. AI opponents in AC Evo will become smarter and more realistic. Unlike the previous games in the series, here the opponents will be trained during the race, and races with AI opponents will resemble a competition with a real person.
They will acquire individual traits: someone will turn out to be aggressive, and someone will be a careful driver. This will add depth to single races. Moreover, AI drivers will be able to make unscripted mistakes, making each race unique.
Open World in Assetto Corsa Evo

One of the key features of AC Evo will be the dynamic day and night system, as well as changing weather conditions. Although snow and realistic puddles with dry areas on the roads in the open world are absent, the developers promise a lot of opportunities for experimentation. For example, police or other vehicles, including trucks and ambulances, may appear in the future.
Interestingly, the developers do not impose the open world on all players. Masaro emphasized: “If you want, you can completely forget about the open world. It's an added value, not a mandatory element.”
Multiplayer mode

Multiplayer races are expected to be an important part of AC Evo, but they won't appear in the first Early Access version. These modes will be added later, in the second or third update. Future multiplayer will include an improved ranking system and anti-chit.
Simulator or Arcade?

Despite the innovations, AC Evo retains the spirit of a simulation game. Players will still be able to simply load a track and car for the traditional hot-lap mode. The developers will also add a “Racing Academy” to teach basic and advanced skills.
Early Access and New Cars

The first Early Access version of AC Evo will launch on January 16, 2024, including five tracks and at least 20 cars. By fall 2025, when version 1.0 is released, the number of licensed tracks will increase to 15 and then 20 over the next four to six months. Audi RS3, BMW M2 Competition, Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo, Mazda MX-5 Cup and Toyota GR86 are among the new cars confirmed. To the surprise of many, the Audi RS6 will also be added to the game.
And until the game is released, we have to wait for more details from the developers. But you can already add ACE to your Steam wishlist. Tens of thousands of players will add it to their list of expected games and judging by all appearances, this number will grow as the release date approaches!
