Description
[Axanthic Studios] Lands of Icaria is a Minecraft mod centered around ancient Greek mythology. It adds a brand-new layered dimension with a large range of flora, fauna, and gameplay mechanics. Explore this unique world, learn to brew magical concoctions, and raid abandoned villages filled with danger. Icaria is inhabited by the revenants, the lingering souls of an ancient civilization that once lived there and even reached into the Nether.
Features
- A new realm to survive in, explore, and conquer.
- 30+ new mobs with unique high-quality Minecraft-style 3D models.
- Two new bosses: the Revenant Captain and the Arachne.
- Villages with unique road systems, loot, and monsters.
- A custom concoction brewing system using herb sequences and recipe scrolls.
- 4 new crops for farming and fertilizer to speed up plant growth.
- Over 400 new blocks and 170+ new items, including tool and armor sets.
- 7 new tree types with a full set of corresponding blocks (stairs, slabs, doors, etc.).
- New gameplay mechanics, including glow-in-the-dark mobs and special gems.
- A depth-based mining system where stone becomes harder as you go deeper.
- Mobs have a low chance to drop skulls for collection.
Mining
The mod uses a depth-based mining progression. Vanilla tools are not very effective in Icaria. From the surface downward, you will encounter: Yellowstone, Silkstone, Sunstone, Voidshale, and Baetyl.
Each stone type requires a specific tool: Yellowstone requires a Chert Pickaxe, Silkstone requires a Chalkos Pickaxe, Sunstone requires an Orichalcum Pickaxe, Voidshale requires a Vanadiumsteel Pickaxe, and Baetyl requires a Sideros Pickaxe.
Workstations
- Kettle: Used to make concoctions.
- Kiln: Used to make glass, loam bricks, and fire storage vases.
- Forges: Used to smelt ores and create alloys.
- Grinder: Turns materials into powder.
Looting
You can find wilderness ruins, ruined villages (guarded by an Arachne), and damaged villages (home to a Revenant Captain and a revenant population). Damaged villages contain significantly better loot.
Farming
- Crops: Physalis, Strawberry, Spelt, Onion.
- Trees: Plane, Populus, Cypress, Fir, Olive, Laurel, Droughtroot.
- Farmable Mobs: Aeternae and Catoblepas (eat spelt), Sows (prefer onions).
Use scythes made from Icarian materials to prepare farmland. Convert it into fertilized soil with calcite powder to double the growth speed of any crops.
Combat
The mod offers various fighting styles:
- Bidents: Can be thrown.
- Daggers: Attack faster than swords.
- Spells: Such as Magic Missile for long-range magic damage.
- Greek Fire Grenades: Ranged weapons that set the ground on fire.
There are 5 armor sets with different protection levels.
Biomes
Icaria currently has four biomes: dry desert, forest, steppes, and scrubland. Each features unique trees, flowers, and decorations like rock spikes and boulders.
Mobs
Mobs are categorized into five groups: Fantastical ambient life, Arachnids/insectoids, Forest hags, Animals/predators, and Revenants.
