Description
Mob Variants adds stronger and more dangerous variants of hostile mobs.
Note: versions for 1.19 are outdated. The features below apply to Minecraft 1.20 and 1.21 versions.
Features
- Cave Variants: When a hostile mob spawns, it has a chance to become a cave variant. The deeper underground it spawns, the higher the chance. By default, cave variants start appearing below Y level 26.
- Spider Variants: Spiders have a chance to become Armored Spiders (+2 HP, 12 armor, and 0.1 knockback resistance). Arrows without piercing are deflected by them.
- Skeleton Variants: Skeletons have a chance to become Undead Warriors (+2 HP, 0.2 knockback resistance, and increased movement speed). They have a 50% chance to spawn with a stone sword, and their first 1–4 arrows apply random status effects such as Weakness, Blindness, or Instant Damage.
- Zombie Variants: Zombies have a chance to become Forgotten (+6 HP, +2 armor, and increased movement speed). They apply Mining Fatigue to enemies.
- Creeper Variants: Creepers have a chance to become Cave Creepers, which explode rapidly when ignited by fire.
