Piglin Proliferation is an expansion and diversification of Piglins, improving some existing vanilla variants and adding entirely new Piglin types with their own gameplay roles. With some further mechanics and planned future content, the mod strives to give the Piglins a better identity as a complex and diverse civilization within the Nether.

Vanilla Piglin Tweaks

– Improved mechanics for Piglin Brutes and Zombified Piglins
– New abilities, gear and variant behaviour
– More customisation and datapack support

Variants of Zombified Piglins

Zombified Piglins keep the appearance and equipment of the original Piglin variant.

For each type of Piglin, there is a zombified version e.g.:

– Piglins with swords or crossbows
– Piglin Brutes
– Piglin Alchemists
– Piglin Travelers

These variants may arise either spontaneously or by zombification. Additionally, zombified piglins can also use the ranged weapons they’re holding, making encounters far more dangerous.

Configuration Choices

– Turn off the feature altogether
– Change spawn rates for Brutes, Alchemists and Travelers

Datapack Support 

Modded Piglins can be given custom zombified looks using resourcepacks and datapacks.

- Add custom overlay textures for modded Piglins
- Define natural spawning behavior for custom zombified variants
- Compatible with supported Piglin variants from other mods

Piglin Brute Rework 

Piglin Brutes now carry Bucklers and have a powerful charge attack.

They dive into enemies at high speed, dealing heavy damage and knockback on impact. If you get caught out near cliffs or lava a Brute can quickly make an end of you.

Bucklers 

Bucklers can be obtained from defeated Brutes or Bastion loot chests.

Bucklers let the player perform a forward charge for 0.75 seconds.

On the charge:

– Disabled turning
– Disabled jumping
– Heavily increased knockback resistance

Then you encounter an entity that does 6-8 damage and gives Critical Aura (the next attack will critically strike).

Bucklers don't work under water to prevent Riptide Tridents from overlapping.

The Buckler’s Enchantments

I–V Curve

– Increases turning control and charge duration
– Reduces shield bash damage
– Maximum level allows full movement control during the charge
– Disables Critical Aura Bang!  I-III

- Shield bashes cause explosions
- Higher levels increase size of explosion
- Damages nearby entities, including player
- Greatly increases Buckler durability loss
- Disables Critical Aura

Additional Config

– Brutes and Bastions no longer have Bucklers
– Disable charge afterimage effects
– Change charge duration and cooldown
– Allow explosive block destruction
– Allow modded entities to use Bucklers

New Piglin Kinds

Alchemist Piglin

Piglin Alchemists can spawn in Nether Wastes, Crimson Forests, and Bastion Remnants.

These helpful Piglins will help their friends with Splash Potions:

– Healing and Regeneration for injured Piglins
– Fire Resistance for burning Piglins
– Strength for weakened Piglins in combat

Low-health Piglins will flee to nearby Alchemists for support.

Alchemists can also use bows to fire Tipped Healing Arrows at allies from a distance. They will attack enemies head on if need be.

Alchemists have their own unique loot table that will give alchemy and brewing related items when bartering.

Wandering Piglins

Piglin Travelers are found living in camps scattered across the Nether, including Soul Sand Valleys and Nether Wastes.

Travelers are neutral and do not attack unless attacked, unlike most piglins.

Traveler’s Compass Bartering with travelers yields special rewards.

Compass of the Traveler

– Finds random biomes or structures
– Reduces unnecessary time spent exploring – Prevents visiting the same locations in the same in-game day

Travelers also trade useful exploration items, like saddles and warped fungus on a stick.

Compatibility with Datapacks

Datapacks can be used by modpack creators to change the Traveler Compass search pool.
