1. First, find some sand

To make glass, the first thing we need is sand. It is quite common, especially near water or in the desert. Just go to a pile of sand and start digging.

At this stage, you don't need to collect a whole pile — even one block of sand is enough to get started.

2. Make or find a furnace

Next, we need a furnace to load the sand into. If you don't have one yet, crafting a furnace is very simple — you only need eight cobblestones, which can be obtained from ordinary stone with a pickaxe.

3. Prepare fuel

The furnace will not work without fuel, so put something inside that can be burned. Most often this is coal, but boards, wood, sticks — anything that can burn — will also work.

4. Melt the sand

Now it's simple: put the sand in the upper chamber of the furnace and the fuel in the lower chamber. After a few seconds, the sand will melt, and you will get glass.
