Minecraft End Portal: How and Where to Find It?
Before you start searching for the portal to the Edge and the castle dungeon itself, you need to prepare thoroughly. Tools and food alone are not enough for the journey - you will need special items, without which it will be impossible to find and activate the portal.
Preparation: resources needed to find the portal
The first things you need are Blaze Rod and Ender's Pearls.
Blaze Staffs are obtained in Nezera (Infernal Dimension) after killing the Blaze Mobs that inhabit the infernal fortresses. These creatures are dangerous, shoot fireballs, and can burn a character in seconds. Therefore, it is worth stocking up on fireproof potions and armor.
Ender's Pearls are mined from Endermen that appear at night in the Upper World or in the deserts. They are aggressive only after a direct glance When destroyed, they sometimes leave the very same pearls. These resources are combined in the workbench: one Blaze Staff produces two powders, which are combined with Ender's Pearls to create Eye of Ender.
The optimal amount of Eye of Ender is about 30 pieces. They are spent not only to activate the portal itself (maximum 12), but also to find the fortress, because they can break when used. Collect a little more of this resource, because sometimes it may not be enough.
How to use Ender's Eye to find a portal
When the right amount of Ender's Eye has been collected, the next stage begins - the search for a fortress. To do this, you need to be in an open area and use the Eye of Ender: when you throw it, it will point in the direction in which the dungeon is located. Sometimes it falls back and can be picked up, but in some cases it disappears irretrievably.
The path to the fortress can be a long one. To avoid wasting all the resources along the way, it is recommended to cast the Eye every 200-300 blocks rather than constantly. As soon as its trajectory starts pointing backwards, you can conclude that the destination has been passed. Move carefully and mark the approximate area where the Eye begins to “spin” on the spot - this is the desired point.
Pinpointing the location and descending into the fortress
To pinpoint the location of the fortress more precisely, it is best to climb up a few blocks and repeat the throw.
If the Eye is pointing straight down, this is the signal to start digging. However, it is not recommended to go straight down: you may fall into lava or a cave with monsters. It is safer to dig diagonally, digging two blocks at the same time - one underneath you and one next to you, so that you always have a platform for support.
When the level of the fortress is reached, you get to the corridors of stone bricks.
Here there may be mobs, doors and traps. The fortress is a labyrinth in which it is easy to get confused. Therefore, it is useful to use torches or other markers to mark the passed areas.
Finding a Portal Room and Activating a Portal
A portal room is visually different: it contains a frame of 12 portal blocks, some of which may already be filled with Ender's Eyes. There is almost always a silver spouter nearby - it is advisable to destroy it to avoid attacks. If the entrance to the room is blocked, you should walk along the adjacent walls - some areas are bricked up and not immediately visible.
When the frame is found, the only thing left to do is to fill in the missing blocks with Ender's Okami. If everything is done correctly, the portal will activate automatically, opening the way to the Edge dimension to fight the dragon.
