Simply Tents: Model and Texture Update
Tent Types
- Solo Tent: a classic A-frame tent.
- Wall Tent: a three-sided tent with an open front.
- Canopy: an open-air roof with no walls.
- Canvas Walls: can be added to your Canopy Tent as side walls.
- Zip Tent: a fully enclosed tent with a toggleable door.
All tents feature a 3x3 interior space. Models and textures are now resource pack compatible.
Features
- Pack Up and Save Interior: sneak and right-click with an empty hand to pack the tent into an item. This saves all interior blocks and entities.
- Smart Spawn Management: configurable options to restore spawn point to last permanent Home, lock it to current Campsite, or use vanilla behavior.
- Tent Ownership Security: configurable option allowing only the player who pitched the tent to pack it up.
- Pitch Tent: automatically faces the player and checks for sufficient space before deploying.
- Dye Fabric: right-click the fabric with any dye to create custom shades.
- Change Frame: right-click poles with any vanilla log, stripped log, or plank to change the wood type.
- Weatherproof: roofs physically block rain and weather mechanics.
- Dynamic Icons: inventory items display current fabric color, wood frame type, and contents in the tooltip.
- In-Game Config Commands: server admins can adjust rules via the /simplytents command without a server restart.
In-Game Commands
/simplytents interiorPickup <true|false>
- Toggles whether sneaking and clicking a tent packs up the interior blocks and entities.
/simplytents restrictPickup <true|false>
- When true, only the player who initially pitched the tent can pack it away.
/simplytents spawnLogic <VANILLA|CAMP|HOME>
- HOME (default): Restores spawn point to the last permanent, non-tent bed.
- CAMP: Locks spawn point to the coordinates where the tent was located.
- VANILLA: Standard Minecraft behavior; spawn point is cleared.
Compatibility and Modpacks
- Partial support for Cold Sweat temperature mechanics.
- Available for Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21.1, 1.21.11, and 26.1.2, and for Fabric and Forge on 1.20.1.
Installation Instructions
- Required dependencies: GeckoLib for all versions, and Cloth Config API for some versions.
- Auto-conversion: old tents automatically convert to new models when the world loads. Ensure the area is not blocked, otherwise conversion will fail and blocks will be deleted. Back up your world and empty old tents before updating.
