True Flashlight changes portable lighting into a fully immersive tactical tool by rebuilding the standard flashlight system from the ground up with Redscript. This mod replaces the old floating camera light with realistic weapon-linked beam physics, AI that reacts to your actions, stealth risks, and a powerful tactical overdrive mode.
Summary:
– A full lighting upgrade that makes the torch a real piece of tactical gear
– The beam moves with your weapon in real time instead of staying fixed to the camera
– NPCs can see both the light beam and hear the sound of turning it on
– It has tactical uses for breaching, clearing rooms and stealth gameplay
– It works with modded gear and custom integrations through JSON configuration
Main Features
Realistic Weapon Lighting: Beam physics linked to the muzzle. The torch acts like a real weapon attachment, following the barrel when you reload, sprint, or move your muzzle away from the crosshair. This is an optional feature that is turned on by default. The torch only works with certain scopes or headgear that are compatible with it. It also has expandable JSON compatibility. To add support for modded scopes and helmets, put their IDs into the r6\storages\TrueFlashlight\true_flashlight.json config file.
Hostile AI Reactions and Stealth—Improved NPC detection logic. When the beam hits nearby surfaces, enemies investigate. When you shine it directly at them, they get an immediate alert. Native Redscript optimisation means that there is no frame-by-frame polling, which keeps performance stable and prevents FPS loss during detection checks. Acoustic detection is also included. Nearby enemies can hear the mechanical toggle sound in quiet or restricted areas. The environment changes dynamically: during the day, enemies are less likely to notice the beam, but at night, they are much more likely to notice it. Heavy rain scatters the beam and makes it harder for NPCs to see it. Elite enemies and MaxTac units can see light sources from much farther away than regular street enemies.
Tactical Flashlight Mode: This mode has a high-output overdrive that increases brightness by 10 times to help you find your target in large spaces. It also instantly blinds enemies caught in the beam during breaches and has context-sensitive behaviour that is set for dark environments to mimic how your eyes and optics would react to sudden high-lumen exposure.
Settings that can be changed
Lighting Calibration: Change the brightness, effective range, beam width, and edge softness. Choose from 10 preset colour profiles, including Arctic, Tungsten, Ember, Jade, Cobalt, Neon, and Ultraviolet. You can also fully customise the RGB colours. There are also multiple native UI sound presets for the toggle effect.
Tactical and Detection Tuning: Set how much the torch makes you easier to see by enemies. There are separate detection sliders for direct hits, peripheral beam exposure, and switch sound alerts. You can also change the environmental multipliers for crouching, rain, and time-of-day awareness changes.
Control Architecture: Full support for modifier key combinations like Shift + F. A unique gamepad D-Pad modifier system lets you use button combinations that work with controllers while keeping the default game controls.
