Former Rockstar Tech Director Suggests GTA 6 Could Be Delayed
Former technical director of Rockstar North Obbe Vermeij does not rule out that the release of GTA 6 may be postponed. In a recent interview he shared his thoughts on the possible delay of the game's release, emphasizing that so far this is only his personal speculation - he has no insider information.
Vermeij recalled how during the development of GTA IV the release date had to be pushed back several months before the release - the team simply could not finish the game in time. In his opinion, something similar may happen with the sixth part. Rockstar, according to him, never releases a product until it is fully ready, even if it means a postponement.
He also noted that GTA 6 is likely to sell for years - at least a decade - and therefore there's simply no point in rushing it. Rockstar can afford to delay the release if it deems it necessary. And it's unlikely that Take-Two will pressure the studio to meet the schedule at any cost.
More specific information can be expected closer to the middle of May - in this period Take-Two plans to summarize the results of the fiscal year. However, according to Vermeij, even if the transfer will still take place, most likely, it will be announced not before the middle of 2025.
Its not suprising , given Rockstar's horrendous track record of absurdly delaying there games to where they are released months or years after the game is "announced" to be released.
